Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: We had a very warm welcome from a helpful host (thank you for the generous honeymoon upgrade!) who also provided excellent recommendations for things to do, a map of Hualien, and suggestions for good breakfast spots. The room was spacious and very comfortable, with a clean bathroom featuring a bidet and a great shower. The B&B is clearly well cared for and nicely maintained. There’s a lift to access the upper floors and a shared kitchen for guests’ convenience (we mainly used it to store snacks and breakfast items).

Negative: Although it’s a bit away from the center of Hualien (around a 30-minute walk along the river or a 10–15 minute taxi ride), it’s only a short walk from the train station, so arrivals and departures were very convenient (and still plenty of food & drinks options nearby).

Summary: A very comfortable stay!
