Positive: I came here for the Halong Bay Marathon, and honestly this hotel was a godsend. Unlike the usual ~200 sq ft rooms you get in Hanoi, our room here was a spacious 400 sq ft — and at a super affordable rate too. It made the stay so much more comfortable. The TV could connect to YouTube and Netflix, which was a nice touch. The shower water was consistently warm as well (unlike some hotels where the hot water comes and goes). They also serve breakfast from 6–9am daily. While the taste wasn’t mind-blowing, the spread had local staples like fried rice, pho, and stir-fried noodles — perfect for carbo loading before the race. The location was another big plus. The hotel is right next to a hypermarket, so we could easily grab all our race prep supplies. It’s also conveniently close to the exhibition centre — around a 20-minute walk or 12-minute jog — which was the marathon’s starting point. And of course, shoutout to the reception staff. They were friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a good stay. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel (especially for fellow marathon runners haha) if you’re in the area.

Negative: The soundproofing wasn’t great. We could hear noise from the corridor, and unfortunately, on the night before our race, a big group of inconsiderate tourists checked in. They were shouting in the hallways, slamming doors, the whole package. Just our luck right before race day lols. As for breakfast, while the spread was overall fine, the fruits weren’t covered and there were fruit flies swarming around them — not the best sight first thing in the morning. Thankfully, the rest of the food was covered in trays.
