Positive: This was the best homestay I've ever stayed in! If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful, private beach getaway, this is it! The location is tucked away along the coast far away from town. The grounds are very big and beautifully decorated and maintained. Each meal is cooked by the staff. Mind you, there is no menu, but the staff will customize your meal according to your food restrictions. Every day, the courses change and each meal is healthy, delicious, and filling. The entire kitchen is open layout so you get the perfect breeze when you stand in front of the sink. I booked for a total of 5 nights and stayed an extra night because it was so comfortable. Because I was the only one staying at the time, they let me choose my own room, which was the perfect size and so tastefully decorated. There is a walkway to a giant private beach. I was literally the only one there for miles. It was perfect for strolling. The waves were perfect for me and I was able to get a great tan. It was great to be able to go back and forth easily from the beach to my room. After swimming and tanning, I would go for lunch or dinner, which would usually already by prepared by the staff. The homestay also has an outdoor pool and pool recliners for those who don't prefer the ocean. I had some work to do during the daytime and there are tons of places to sit and read or work on your laptop around the grounds. Even when more people showed up, I still had alot of space and privacy. They have a bunch of friendly cats and dogs (their guarddogs will warm up to you very quickly). They have a motorbike that you can borrow to go to town, which I did a few times, but I mostly stayed on the grounds because they had everything I needed. The daughter, Lara, was very helpful and even sewed up my shorts when they ripped. If I asked for anything, like nail clips, conditioner, bar soap, even an aloe plant, they had everything! I wouldn't mind spending months here, and I plan on coming back...
Negative: Not a big deal, but there is no hot water for showering. They will provide you with a kettle to boil water, and a basin to bath in. At first, I thought I wouldn't be able to handle no hot water, but it was actually a very nice change of pace to bathe! Very comfortable and I get even cleaner than when I shower! If you are arriving for the first time, try to arrive before it gets dark outside. Because the homestay tucked far from the town, there are no street lights near the home and neighbor guard dogs will be barking all around you. Make sure the Grab takes you right up the driveway or you will have a hard time finding the home. Once you're here for a few days, you'll know the lands like the back of your hand, but the first time can be confusing, especially at night. It's best to save the homestay phone number and contact them if you plan on arriving after dark, so they can help you navigate, because even the Grab driver was a bit confused.
