Positive: Our stay at Taroko B&B was great. It is just outside of Taroko Gorge with a nice ocean view. Keep in mind that you cannot swim at this location, but the view is lovely. The owners were friendly and accommodating. They did our laundry for free, which was wonderful. We had a room on the 3rd floor (walkup only) with a huge deck. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and watching the ocean. Our room was clean and large. The AC worked great. The water pressure was nice. Breakfast was delicious. We were there when the earthquate struck and the building held up well with no damage. The owners helped make a stressful situation better. If you are staying at this location it is good to have a vehicle, as there is not a lot to see or do in the town. We ended up driving to Hualien for dinner.

Negative: No complaints, just you may feel a little isolated in this part of town without a vehicle. I would definitely stay there again. Also - the owner wanted cash for the room. That wasn't a problem, we just weren't aware of that prior to arriving. We were able to pay him the next morning once we went to an ATM.

Summary: Very comfortable home with a beautiful ocean view just outside of Taroko Gorge.
